Why Hire an Architect?

Many people ask this question. It is a fair question considering that it will add to the total cost of the project and possibly extend the completion date of the project you wish to build. However, if you really look at what architects have to offer you will see that architects add great value to your project, financially, culturally, and environmentally.

“Tens of thousands wise, hundreds of thousands foolish.”
Claire Conroy, residential architect

One might think they are smart by saving a few dollars on the front end, but it reality is that it doesn’t make financial sense to cut out the architects.  A registered architect has had an average of 5 ½  years of training plus many more years of internships and tests before they can be a fully registered architect.  Much of their training deals with budgets and minimizing costs on projects.  They are also trained in energy savings through the use of design and materials, which have a big impact on the long-term cost of the building.
